What a CCTV installation includes

One price on the quote covers all of it. Systems from £995.

  1. The survey

We come round for free at a time that suits you. We listen to what you want and how you want it done, then talk through how we think it can be achieved and any changes that are needed.

  2. The drawing

You get a plan: each camera, what it sees, what is masked, where the cables go, and a written quote.

  3. The kit

For a standard 4-camera set-up: 1 × UniFi UNVR Instant recorder, 4 × G5 Turret Ultra cameras, a 1TB hard drive, and one Cat6 cable per camera, plus one to your router.

  4. The fitting

Cables go through the loft, cavities and soffits. Holes are sealed, and any mess is tidied.

  5. The handover

The UniFi Protect app goes on your phones. I show you how to find footage, save a clip and check every camera is recording.

  6. The guarantee

Ten years on our workmanship. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.

Cutaway of a house: recorder in the loft, cables along the joists, out through the soffits to two cameras, and one cable down to the router Loft First floor Ground floor Recorder Router
  1. 1

The recorder (UNVR Instant) goes out of the way

Often in the loft or a cupboard. We put the recorder wherever suits you and run the cable to it.

  2. 2

    Cables run across the loft

Clipped along the joists, out of sight and out of the way of anything stored up there.

  3. 3

    Out through the soffit

Each camera is fed from above, through the soffit, wherever the house allows. Not clipped across the front wall.

  4. 4

    One cable per camera

Power and picture travel down the same cable, so there are no plugs or transformers at the camera.

  5. 5

    Joined to your router

One more cable links the recorder to your router, so the app works when you are away from home.

A typical run. Every house is different, and the survey drawing shows the route for yours.

What changes the price

Systems start from £995. The survey drawing comes with a written quote, so you know the full figure before anything is ordered.

What changes the quoteFour things

Q1How many cameras
Each one is a camera, a cable run and a fixing.
Q2How long the runs are
A camera at the bottom of a long garden takes more cable and time than one over the front door.
Q3How much recording you want
More cameras, or more days kept, can mean a larger drive in the recorder.
Q4How the house is built
Solid walls, flat roofs and no loft access all change the route.

Questions people ask

Is there a monthly fee?

Not for the system I fit. The UniFi Protect app and viewing from anywhere are free, and footage is kept on the recorder in your house.

Does it need Wi-Fi?

Yes, but only the recorder, and that's connected to your router by a Cat6 cable. The cameras don't use Wi-Fi: each one has its own cable.

Can I see it on my phone?

Yes. I set the app up on your phones before I leave and show you how to find and save a clip.

What about the neighbours?

Every drawing shows what each camera can't see as well as what it can, and the parts that aren't yours are masked out.

I already have cameras. Can you use them?

Sometimes. Older systems are often a different type of camera, but some cable runs can be reused. I'll tell you at the survey.
