Who I am
For the details you send through this website, I'm the data controller: I decide how they're used.
What I collect
Only what you type into the form: your name, phone number, email address if you give it, your town or postcode, what the enquiry is about and anything else you choose to tell me.
If you message or ring me instead, I'll have your number and whatever you tell me.
Why, and the legal basis
To reply to you, arrange a survey or repair visit, and give you a quote. The legal basis is that you've asked me to take these steps before we agree any work (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(b)). If you become a customer, I keep what I need to do the job, invoice it and honour the guarantee.
I don't use your details for marketing, and I never sell or share them for anyone else's marketing.
Where it goes
When you press the button, the form is checked and sent straight to my inbox at info@overheadsecurity.com by a small program run on Cloudflare, which hosts this website. The website itself doesn't store what you send.
To keep out spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a program, is filling it in. Cloudflare processes some technical information from your browser to do this.
Cloudflare acts as my processor for hosting the website, the spam check, sending the form and counting visits. Its servers may be outside the UK; it uses the safeguards UK law requires for that.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't turn into work are deleted after 12 months.
If you become a customer, I keep your records for 6 years after the job, then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it or delete it, or object to how I use it. Email info@overheadsecurity.com and I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Cameras I fit
Footage from a system I fit belongs to you, recorded on your own recorder at home. I don't keep copies or have access after the handover unless you ask me to help with it. If your cameras see past your boundary, data protection law applies to you: see CCTV and your neighbours.
